How To Pray The Rosary
Bless yourself with the Crucifix as you make the Sign Of The Cross, then while holding your Crucifix pray the Apostles’ Creed.
On the first large bead, pray the Our Father.
On each of the next 3 small beads pray the Hail Mary asking for the grace of Faith, Hope, and Charity.
Pray the Paraclete Prayer for the Holy Spirit:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Divine Love.
V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Next, pray the Doxology also known as the “Glory Be” prayer.
Now as you begin to pray the First Mystery meditate upon this Holy Mystery. Then pray the Our Father on the first large bead. On each of the following ten small beads pray a Hail Mary. Upon completing the 10 Hail Mary’s pray the Doxology Prayer “Glory Be” and then the Fatima ForgivenessPrayer.
After completing all five decades of prayers conclude with the Hail Holy Queen and Closing Prayers. Finish with the Sign of the Cross.
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sits on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
The Our Father
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. *
Pope Francis in 2017, suggested new wording for the last few words of the Our Father, from, “lead us not into temptation” to “do not let us fall into temptation,”. The Catholic Church in France has previously decided to use “do not let us fall into temptation”. Pope Francis said he would prefer to adjust the phrase “lead us not into temptation,” saying that it too strongly suggested that God leads people to sin. Until an official church position is announced it is suggested to use the older version during Mass and use the new wording in private prayer.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art though among women, and blessed is the fruit of the womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Doxology Prayer
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Paraclete Prayer
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the Fire of Divine Love.
V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
Forgiveness Prayer
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire[s*] of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need [of thy mercy*]. *Alternate wording added to the original Fatima version. by popular public sentiment.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this Valley of Tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy wound Jesus. O clement, o loving, o sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, o holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of God.
Closing Prayers
O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech You, that by meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may learn to imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise, though the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Traditional Addendum Prayer
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
MEDITATION is the very essence of the Holy Rosary with the Mysteries of Faith on the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ, His Blessed Mother, His suffering and death, and for the redemption of your life and that of the human race.
